Time to take a breath!
Well, football season is over. My son's team, the Dolphins, didn't make it past the first round of the playoffs. However, considering this was the first year they played (expansion team) and that they won their last two games of regular season with a blow up, that ain't too shaby. All the kids grew and became brothers in arms. My son, Patrick, did better than I could have possibly hoped for. Up to the day he was issued his uniform, he had only agreed to play under protest. By the time he started practicing he thought it was pretty cool, now that it's over it's tied as his favorite sport right next to soccer! (we'll work no that last one over time).
He's learned so much I can't describe it all, and I'm beginning to see the glimmers of what one day will be a man. To see an eight year old get put in the dirt time and time again by a kid fifty pounds his senior and come back for more, he's shown more backbone and character than most adults. I feel this has taught him life lessons that will stay with him for the rest of his life. I'll have some pics up soon, I shot about 20 rolls of film for the second half of the season.
On another note, I took the poll of the week club from Oz's web site. With the election tomorrow, of course that is the aim of the poll.
On the subject of voting, if your a liberal, don't forget to vote on Wednesday. If your a conservative or a liberatarian, the election is tomorrow. If you really don't know when or where to vote, do us all a favor, and DON'T VOTE!
