The Monster Stirs

All right, I'll admit it right off, I was shamed into this entry. My best (oldest) friend, Oz (http://lordoz.blogspot.com/), kept harassing me in every email that I needed to update my blog, so here it is.

A shitload has happened since last update. We've all moved to Texas, and moved again from Irving to Arlington. Joy had of course landed a great job, and we both bought new cars. The only thing I haven't been doing is writing. Avatar finally pissed me off enough that I shelved the two versions of book II I've finished or partially finished. I'm not too worried. I know where I want it to go, I just don't have the 'whatever' to finish it at this point.

I started a re-write of The Lord's Prayer. This one is either going to be my Opus, or my Oopus. I first wrote this back in the late 80's as kind of a sci-fi action film with a thin layer of religion. It has evolved into the opposite. I must have written about half a million words on this and still don't have so much as a synopsis I would dare send to a publisher! I know there is a major novel in here that might actually rise to the level of literature! The only question is do I have enough brain cells left to make it come out in a coherent enough manner. Maybe I'll work on Avatar at the same time, I don't know. Life just feels a little disjointed right now.

I'm going to settle to commit to updating this damn blog once a week and go from there. Friends, stay tuned. This could get interesting!
