Sluggish Times
Finally making some progress again. But just like before, as the end loomes, I find myself making regrets of how I got there. This book is proving very difficult, not just because it's the first sequel I've written, but also because there is so much I want to happen, but I'm largely clueless how to get there in a concise and satisfying way for the readers. I'm probably going to just end it where I want to, and go back to a re-write again.
On another note, I've diverted my frustration by writing a novella tentatively titled Aftermath. Its about a person similar to me, stranded a thousand miles from his family when a rogue comet causes an accidental nuclear exchange. I've always loved the cold war era mens adventure and this is kind of a modern revisting to those.
I'm finally going home to Indiana this weekend to visit my family. I don't know who I miss more, my wife or my son. I guess its equal parts of sadness, but in a few days I get to be whole again.
